MALAYSIA

Malaysia.

 The Federation of Malaysia comprises of Peninsular Malaysia, and the states of Sabah and Sarawak on the island of Borneo.

Kuala Lumpur is the capital of Malaysia. With an area of ​​329.758 square km and  geographical Malaysia is as diverse as its culture.Malaysia is divided into 13 states and 3 Federal Territories, separated by the South China Sea with 11 states and 2 federal territories (Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya) in Peninsular Malaysia and two states and 1 federal territory (Labuan) in East Malaysia.

Situated between 2º and 7º to the North of the Equator line, Peninsular Malaysia is separated from Sabah and Sarawak by the South China Sea. In the northern part of Peninsular Malaysia lies Thailand, and in the south, neighboring Singapore. Sabah and Sarawak are bounded by Indonesia while Sarawak also shares borders with Brunei.


Population of 28.3 million with the Malays comprise 57% of the population, while the Chinese, Indian and Bumiputeras such as the Orang Asli, Ibans, Bidayuh, Orang Ulu, Kadazan, Bajau, Murut and other races make up the rest of the country's population with(Bahasa Melayu)Malay is the national language in use, but English is widely spoken. The ethnic groups also converse in the various languages and dialects.

Islam is the official religion of the country, but other religions are widely practiced such as Christian, Buddhist, Hindu and more.Therefore in Malaysia, there are many feast days and celebrations such as Hari Raya Puasa, Christmas, Chinese New Year, Deepavali, Hari Gawai and more.

 Malays, Indians, Chinese and many other ethnic groups live together in peace and harmony. Multiculturalism has not only made Malaysia a gastronomical paradise, it has also made Malaysia home to hundreds of colorful festivals. It's no wonder that we love celebrating and socializing. As a people, Malaysians are very laid back, warm and friendly.
